Friday 8th May: Arabic Science Fiction: A Frontier of (Im)possibilities, Ashkal Alwan, 8pm
Conversation between Darine Hotait, Fadi Baqi and Yazan al-Saadi. Moderated by exhibition curator Rachel Dedman, the discussion will go beyond fundamental questions such as 'does science fiction exist in the Arab world?' and attempt to consider issues surrounding sci-fi’s critical potential, its experimentation with Arabic as a language, and the power of the genre's marginal status, within a regional context.

Thursday 21st May: Wagons Libres, a talk-fiction from the future by Sandra Iché, at The Hangar, UMAM, 8pm. More info here.
Iché delves into the history of Lebanese magazine L’Orient Express, conducting interviews with its key protagonists from 2030, reflecting on temporality, history and possible past-futures.
- A free bus will be provided from Sodeco to The Hangar at 7pm and back at the end of the evening; please email spacebetweenourfingers@gmail.com to register a place!
